The Book of Acts
Why the book of Acts? Because there is so much we can learn from the early church. We love to hear their stories of devotion, sharing, and caring. Although even in New Testament times, God needed to be pretty severe in order to get the Christians’ attention.
It wasn’t always easy. There was great pain and suffering involved in spreading the gospel, even to the point of death. And yet our first martyrs wouldn’t have had it any other way. They found great comfort in knowing God was by their side, no matter how brutal the enemy.
If only we could have their faith! A faith in a God we cannot see; faith in believing that Christ will come back just for us; faith in knowing we do have a Savior. Oh, wait, we do have that faith! It’s a gift from God! But it’s a gift we don’t just put on the shelf and forget about; instead it’s a gift best used and shared regularly with all those who have ears to hear.
So join us as we look to just what God might have in store for us today. Because what more does God ask of us than to “do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8) It’s time we do just that and put aside all the roadblocks we’ve built to keep us from doing just that.
Walking humbly with you in God’s love,
